Lauren Wood Heickman, MD is a medical officer in the Division of Diabetes, Lipid Disorders and Obesity in the Office of New Drugs. Lauren is a pediatric endocrinologist with a background in type 1 diabetes clinical and translational research and joined the FDA in 2020. Lauren completed her MD and pediatric residency training in San Antonio, Texas at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology and a Kirschstein-NRSA postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Virginia.
